LAST MINUTE REVISION TIP FOR JEE 2010
Hello, friends hope you all must be busy with your preparation. I just thought of giving some tips for jee 2010 which I thought would be helpful.
Firstly, those people who are giving boards presently : FOCUS ON BOARDS ONLY. Try to take the benefit of boards. As they will help you in remembering formulas and large chunk of inorganic which is too scoring. You might laugh… but I tell you atleast 10% of you will write the formula of Doppler’s effect wrong in the JEE due to nervousness. S=1/2at^2 is a simple formula but say this only after writing it in JEE without missing any part. This is where boards help.
Secondly, without delay start the Jee preparation once boards end. It will end around 18th march I guess so 19th will be a jolly time to start studying. DON’T SAY “ I haven’t done anything the whole year so what will I do in these 25 days.” I tell you personally I did 6 chapters of chem in these days which fetched me around 20-30 marks that is nearly 200-350 ranks up.
For rare cases where paper of board will end on 28th march etc like some of my friends who had biotech as optional subject had it on the end of april. So you can do is to temporarily suspend the board study when there are no board exam and then from 26-27 study biotech and then reassume the study for JEE.
Another TOP SECRET : Don’t leave small topics like surface chemistry, biomolecules, etc. Obviously there are no such small topics in math and phy. I have a strong intuition that small topics will contribute to JEE heavily. Like for years they have been asking carbonium ions etc. so they can ask nitrene, benzyne this time. PAY HEED TO THEM.Moreover these chapters are usually isolated and can be completed in 2-3 days properly.
For revision do this :
1 : Recognize your main areas and weak areas on the day the board ends.
2 : Practice good qs from YG file or whatever you use. Don’t do notebook qs. SOLVE LAST 31 years paper which is a must Also solve 2-3 unsolved practice paper which you can manage. I would prefer the time 9-12 and 2-5 to solve them.And use time watch and I hope you would not be talking or lying down all this time with a cup of tea in your hand…..
3 : Practice few qs say in morning or afternoon of chapters in which you are strong
4 : For weak areas atleast know the basic formula and theory in the chapter IF YOU CAN
5 : If a particular portion in a chapter creates problem then leave it and do the rest and Most probably it will not come in exam.Try calculating its probabilty??
6: For maths I would recommend practicing and practicing. But practice few but quality qs.
7 : for chem – I know there will be a group of anti-chem people and most of you will be good in maths( coincidence) or computers.So for them atleast do the physical and LEARN INORGANIC .Now you will say that - that is the whole chem except organic but I said as much as you can. At least DO THE CHEMICAL TEST OF ANIONS AND CATIONS which is a part of boards so do them along with boards study.
FEW non-acads TIPS :
1: Try waking up at 5am in morning so that your biological clock sets to 9am -5pm by 13th april or whenever you have JEE
2: eat well and I would prefer some morning walk to keep you fresh
3: Stay calm : “ kahin to ho hi jaayega “
Another thing :
1: I would prefer that one doesn’t studies any new chapter after 1st april : I am not making you april fool by the way.
2: don’t study 1 day before JEE but that doesn’t mean you can see movies or listen to songs else they will resonate in your mind all day long. Just turn over the books and remember the imp concepts and make a list of all formulas and carry it with you to exam centre( not to exam hall of course) which you will surely see before the exam day.This is imp. : don’t let these silly reasons discredit your hard work.
3 : read the instruction on all pages and do all the paper work.
4: bubble the answers simulataneously as you go along don’t leave it to end
5 : stay calm and don’t carry books to exam centre.

PS : jee is not the end but reserve this reason until the exam has ended.

PS : I am going to college on Monday and will be unable till 6th May,2010.
