Tension hai par easy hai

some imp. pts abt. surface tension.....

On adding detergent to a liquid ,its surface tension as well as viscosity decreases

On increasing the temp. surface tension decreases

on inc. the temp. viscosity pf liquids decreases but that of gases increases

critical temp. is the temp. at wich surface tension of the liquid becomes zero

Bigger drop is nt spherical in shape bcoz of gravity

the liquids having lesser surface tension spreads more on surface

Oil spreads in the form of layer on cold water surface however it remain like a drop on hot water surface bcoz S.T. of oil is lesser than cold water and greater than hot water

Hair of a brush (say painting brush) , wen dipped in water spread out but as soon as it is taken out , the hairs cling together bcoz a thin water film is formed at the tips of the hair wen taken out and then the surface film contracts due to surface tension aquire min. surface area and hair cling together

small liquid drops are spherical in shape bcoz fr a given vol. , a sphere has the least area

if an irregular piece of camphor is floated on the surface of pure water , it doesnt remain steady but dances about on the surface......................

steel is more elastic than iron

normal stress can never produce shear strain and tangential stress can never produce longitudnal or volumetric strain

a long thin wire has max. extension fr a given load
