Orbital can be described as the place where the probablity of finding an electrn is more.
we usually come across 4 orbitals , the s orbital, p orbital, d orbital and the f orbital.
in this order, the complexity of their shape also goes on increasing.
The shape of the s orbital:
an s-orbital can be depicted as above. it has no particular direction along which the electron finding probability is more.It is symetric ie the probability of finding electron is same in all directions.
The shape of p orbital:
the p orbital is dumbell shaped ie the probabilty of finding an elctron is more along one particular axis.
the shape of d orbital:
The d orbital is double dumbell shaped.
and the most complicated orbital-The f orbital:

The g orbiatl:
some of the figures are as follows:
m=0
m=1,-1
m=2,-2
m=3,-3
m=4,-4
