hey my teacher told that some topics in sumita arora comp.science textbook are out of syllubus. but cbse have not mentioned anything.is sumita arora the prescribed text for cbse.is there any oher good book for understanding the programming.

TEACHER ASKED US TO REFER SOME GUIDES FOR FINDING OUT WHICH ARE OUT OF SYLLABUS.BUT I DONT HAVE GUIDES AND THATS WHY ASKED U PEOPLE....

yup i think sumitha arora is a gud 1.some of my friends use pioneer guide,but i dont think its useful,there r lots of mistakes in it.

For better understanding of C++, go for the book by E Balaguruswamy.

Sumita arora's books contain a lot of nonsense sometimes that is not at all required and there are also repetiton of topics..

ya i know what ur meaning coz the concepts of stack r similar to linked list and queuee............but just check the front of the text book it says about only linked list and queuee

here are some of the mistakes........

1). pg no. 189.......fig 4.4...........original program.......function "square" shud be declared before "main".....as it is inline....

2).Chapter DATA FILE HANDLING>.......in almost all the programs....this statement is used.......
          if( ! fout )
          {   cout << " file cannot be opened " ;
             return 1 ;
          }
highlighted statement is wrong as "returntype" of "main" is kept void.....instead of return....exit(0); should be used....for which stdio.h shud be used.....

3). pg 352 program 7.10 "fin" is used but declared is "fi"

4). pg 653 Distributive law.....second circuit is wrong,,,,

5). pg 663 Table 13.31 the last value of F shud be 1 according to example 13.11

if I get more........I will post them in 3 days.......
