Buddies , I have been using goiit for about 4-5 hours daily during the months of January and February. Today I received the broadband bill, it shows a total usage of Rs. 10,000 /- I was shocked ,and my parents are furious on me. Can this much usage of internet cost such a price, do u guys also get same amounts of bill or there is some mistake with my connection and it may be possible that these BSNL people have done some printing mistake in the bill.I have that connection in which we have to give Rs. 250 per month and 1 GB is free to download.And what should I do , should I confirm this with authorities or something else can be done. S.O.S.

sniper i also have bsnl 250 plan..............but this is too much imean a ten thousand bill........did u download too much the last month....even then it cant reach 10,0000......its impossible............i had dwnlded and my bill reached 2000...........so just think how can it go to 10,000........u check with the authorities.............

Hello!
Well, something similar happened to me when i got my home connected to the Internet a few years ago! I guess you can't do much about it. You should have known that the term 'download' is used to mean much more than only the stuff that you 'save' to your computer from the Net. Come to think of it, doesn't every page that you view on the Net first has to 'get to your computer' before you view it? And BSNL uses the term to mean exactly that. It's more like a dial-up connection. It's broadband only in terms of the speed that it offers.
Check out the schemes offered by Airtel, or any other telecommunications company for that matter, that let you surf and save from the web for a fixed fee per month!

i also am having this problem
so tell me how is this possible when bsnl also says that my download is 1.2 GB and my bill is 2000

10000 is impossible man...
Additional Usage Charges/MB beyond free download/upload limit (Rs) 0.90 that wud mean you have downloaded about 11 gb extra Better check with the authorirties
It cud be possible that there is a spyware/trojan in your system and it is transferring the data from your computer without your knowledge. However I'm not sure about this.

hi anchit............2000 is possible............coz u might have exceede 1.2 gb...........and what ashish said is rght.......just read his post.........this 1.2 gb invovles all the upload as well as download.........

i have not exceeded 1.2 GB
i checked the account with bsnl
and it said total data transfer as 1.2GB
|
