bits g vs bits p ... a general query ...

i dont mean to offend neone ... i have due regards for bits goa completely .. but i have a query ..

a lot has been said about goa being under the bits banner .. that the placements are centralised and all .. but i have a simple thing to ask ..

if we look at a higher scale at the seven IIT,s ( obviously on the higher side ) , why is it that guwahati has not been able to come up to the standards f say iit d or iit b ?

same is to be held for roorkee despite of it being the best colege of asia ...

so here i see that people are saying tat bits goa is at par with bits plani coz it has the bits tag and the centralised placements and all but sayng thing that iit guwahati or roorkee is not good .. why ? dont they come under the IIT banner .. probably much more prestigious ( and here there is no doubt .. i beleive the seniors will agree with this )..

and why is it that bits is said to be better than IIT when they are age old insti and even if new as is guiwahati , it should be at par with IIT ?/

i request the seniors to answer this thing ..

again i would like to say that my comments are not to hurt neone .. it is a geniuine doubt ..

again if we look at the history of the two colleges guwahati has been around for the past 13 years or so and roorkee , wel nthing to say for that ... 150 yrs i guess ..

then why this kind of analogy abt being in the baner even though it is just three yrs old ??

well actually noone is sayin tht bits pilani-goa campus is at par or better than pilani campus.......most of the guys in da forum r sayin tht goa is good and is livin upto da bits brand....nd in a matter of 5-7 years it will be more popular nd will probably be more closer 2 pilani campus in terms of prestige.....people studyin in goa campus know tht student quality is more or less da same in both da places.......also da infra of goa is quite impressive nd placements are expected 2 be at par wid pilani......

same goes fr da 2 so called inferior iits....students der know they r nt inferior 2 other iits......it will take some time fr both dese iits 2 gain the respect tht other iits gt.......bt in da end both bits nd iit brnd are gud...bt it is upto da individual 2 prove his worth....
