I  have got AIR 1100 and state (tamilnadu) 28 in aieee 2008 and can get both cse or ece in NIT-Trichy.......


Over the past years, ece has been preferred more by ppl, who have the option to take it in NIT-T. I heared that u need to memorise a lot in ece, while in cse, u need to be great in math and logic. I like taking cse. But i heared from any ppl, as it came in the newspapers that comp science is a declining course and not as assuring as other engg. groups.


I want to take cse, but every1 around me is suggesting to go for ece. What r the advntgs n disadvantages ? what should i do ? i m worried, as i feel i might regret my choice......

I am in CS ..i luv this branch .. whn i was taking it heard the same things .. i took CS .. n i am very happy having taken tat .. this is not the declining field .. n moreover it is logical interesting .. so just go wit it . .it is all good

Why don't you try for IIIT-H  for CS.


It is of international std, and absolutely no quota.  good faculty and good research work. excellet infrastructure. Very selected students, hence exclusive.


IITs may come dow in standing with 50% quota 10 yrs down the line.

Comps or ECE is a personal choice......its always bttr to take up the branch of ur  interest......its bttr to excel in comps rather than goofing up in ECE....i must say go in for comps if that fascinates you...the branch still has immense potential.....
