Sir
I am dropping & preparing for JEE again
Till now everything is going fine but now from about august last i am not able to study means i know dat i hav to do it & wat 's my aim & i can do it
but still my full concentration is not going on study
matlab mera mann padhai ka nahin kar raha
ye sab boring lag raha hai
only physics to mein daily karta hun interesting lagati hai lekin maths & chemistry karne ka man bilkul hahin karta
The main distracting agent is TV & secondly the songs
Another thing which troubles me is dat wat will happen if i again fail to qualify in jee
I know  dat it's my last chance for cracking JEE& dat i am wasting my year ,my life by doing so but still i am unable to cope up with the problem

In short i know my problem deeply,it's every aspect ,it's impact on my coming life,it's consequences
THE ONLY THING I DON'T KNOW IS THE SOLUTION OF THIS PROBLEM

Last year i also suffered from same problem & this year it stood upright in front of me. & disturbing me dat it will not allow me to get my goal
Plz pull me out of this problem i am in gr8 trouble
plz reply soon as time is running out of my hands
I will be very thankful
if u don't understand my problem completely( the chances of which is very less)
then nudge me i will make it more clesr but  plz give it a deep thinking coz my whole life depends on it
bye

Hi there.
Though I am no expert I thought this might help you.
I have dropped this year too and yes, your problems were mine a year back.
I think the most important thing to realise is that you are NOT wasting one year. You have dropped a year because you know you deserve nothing less than an IIT B.Tech degree. This definitely should have been your criterion when you decided that you will drop a year.
Whenever such a temptation arises, you should immediately remind yourself that this thing will lose you a well deserved rank and you may have to settle for something less and that will be a complete insult to your efforts AND your capability. Also, it will imply that you wasted a year instead of utilising a year for a better and brighter prospect.
I hate Chemistry immensely but I know this "choice" might knock off a few or a lot more marks which may affect the final scoreline.

The best way, atleast I find it is the best, is to take it as a challenge. Nothing gets you going ahead with full speed than a hurt ego. It'll definitely solve a lot of your problems if you take it up as a challenge. I am a huge Formula One freak so I limit myself to race this year despite there being a qualifying session. It is tempting but when I give in to the temptation of watching it, I just ask myself, "Are you so weak that you cannot resist this one hour of entertainment for an hour that might fetch you one rank up in JEE?" And it works wonders.

Hope this might have helped you.

Best of luck with your attempt of JEE! Cheers mate!

See you know your weak points. TV is the most distracting agent, its a general problem, i had the same problem during my preparations. The best way to take care of it is remove it completely from the root, unsubscribe the cable connection.
Songs are refreshing rather than distracting agents if heard in limit. Too much of anything is harmful. So make a schedule and restrict yourself to it. For example after half an hour of studies listen one song and then again get back to work. The plan is up to you whichever suits you best.

Distribute time to each of the three subjects according to your needs. You have to compel yourself to study chemistry and maths. See whenever you open the book pick up randomly 2 or 3 questions from the chapters you have done so far and then solve them, if you are done certainly it'll boost your confidence that i have a good grasp on these topics. At start it would be tough to generate interest but if you carry on and once you are in to the problems(after completion of the theory), self-interest will automatically be generated. First do your strong topics and let yourself in confidence because at this the most important thing you require is confidence. Once you are a bit confident start other chapters afresh.
