Hello everyone!

I am a student of Class 12 and I believe (and so does everyone around me) that I am in a miserable state of affairs in my academics.

This is my score-sheet in my half-yearly exams.

Maths - 29/100 F
Chem - 34/70
Phy - 22/70 F
Eng - 89/100 (not bad, huh!)
Hindi - 89/100 (not that bad either!)

It's not that I have been this bad all through my life. I scored 90.0 % in 10th board CBSE and 76% in Class 11 (CBSE).

But as you can see, things are pretty different now. My parents expect me to touch the 90 mark again. If only I could get my PCM up to the mark, that could become a possibility.

Everything seems so tough now. I feel like I am the dumbest person on Earth. I can't seem to understand even the simplest of concepts.

I admit to have wasted time uptil now, but that was because I have been in a state of depression since the beginning of Class 11. Now, I am ready to work as hard as I humanly can, but nothing seems to be going right.

The Pre-boards are around the corner and I am already suffering from excessive anxiety and sleepless nights made even worse by nightmares about my failing in the Board exams when I do manage to doze off. All this is making matters worse as I am not able to focus on my studies.

I am no position to even think about taking competitive exams. I just want to pass the Board exams with good ( and my idea of 'good' has gone down several notches along with my self-esteem) marks.

Do you think I have enough time to turn things around?

I haven't learned properly even a single topic of Maths so far. When I take up Calculus to study, I begin to wonder how outstandingly brilliant my previously dumb classmates have become as I can't seem to make head or tail out of it. I feel so terrible when can't get through even the first exercise of any chapter.

I do not think I have time enough to do voluminous books like RD Sharma or RS Aggarwal. I have heard that NCERT Maths textbook is good enough for Boards. If I complete each and every topic from the NCERT textbook, would I be able to fare well in the exams; or is it necessary to refer to books like RD Sharma or RS Aggarwal? At the moment, only the NCERT textbook seems like doable for me. But the question is: is it good enough?

Please help! You know how desperate I am!

as far as u scoring good marks is concerned, i do thnk tht u can do it.........after 90% in 10th does show tht kuch tho akkal hai..:):)...............

hmmm basics weak hone ki baat karen tho.....i would suggest u 2 revise ur 11th portions before starting up ur 12th portions..........especially integration karne ke pehle, limits,continuity,etc should be done perfectly......

moreover when u r willing to work hard ..... i dont thnk this shld pose a difficulty.....but haan u shld work DAMN hard.........

hey dnt b upset!!! as nivedh said since u hv scored 90% in 10th it means u r gud at studies n not a dumb. so dnt worry u hv enough time to prepare 4 board exams. after ncert u can solve "together with "or any other sample paper. it will b more den enugh. infact numerical prob of ncert of physics r very gud questions.

no reason to be upset ... even i was in a rather similar situation but believe me ... i say by experience ... just put in your best efforts n you wont believe the progress you will make !! i know its hard to see your once dumb friends doing so well now but i also tell you this ... you'll feel on the top of the world once you see those friends panting to keep up to you ... you may not believe me right now but this will happen once you put in your best !!!
i agree with nivedh ... aakal may kuch toh hai !!! your tenth marks definitely shows this ... but dont get complacent coz thats the worst thin that can happen !!!
just focus now and start from the basics... but also keep an eye on the time k ... just believe in yourself ...

Hello everyone!!!

Thank you very much for your replies. It sure has made me feel better and more optimistic. Keeping in mind what you have said, I have made a fresh foray into Calculus and it has begun surprisingly well! I have decided to use RS Aggarwal as reference material along with the NCERT textbook.

Each one of the replies deserved a salute. Your replies have lifted my sagging spirits. Thanks once again!

hey u should not loose hope. Try solving rd sharma or rs aggarwal along with ncert textbook. For physics & chem ncert is the bible & then u can refer 2 together with or u-like books.

Try 2 solve previous years papers as mock tests.

READ & REVISE EACH CHAPTER THOROUGHLY & TRY 2 WRITE THE ANSWERS 2 THE FIVE MARKS QUESTION e.g. cyclotron,transistor as oscillator, in chem all the reactions & solved numericals etc.

I am sure these will help u a lot .

I'm also in such a kinda situation. Even if I know some concepts (thanks to Goiit), I haven't finished my XII portions yet and I don't even want to mention about XI portions. I've failed once in XI (now you know how it is). Don't think you're lonely.

hi ashis even i am undergoing the same situation....i keep thinking my classmates r better than me and even get discouraged....but dont worry keep concentration and keep saying to urself ''i will do it and hell with the rest''

make some goals for urself for eg:

if u hav 2 complete half chapter in 45 mins or practice about 25 problems dont relax till u finish......then after finishing treat ur self and again start studying

i am doing the same thing and i hope u get motivated

If securing maximum marks is your aim:

Finish NCERT completely (Miscellaneous is not a must) -> Give your board exam -> Secure 95 -> Go Home :)

First of all , ma friend, dun give a damn to dese internal exms result coz dey do scrutinize dose papers striclty in order to motivate u....

And lemme tell u dat there will always b 1 or 2 dumb studz(each tym a diff 1 ofcourse!!!!!!) who'll fare well in dese internals coz d syllabus is limited & everybody has a topic or two of which he/she is a master of........

and just stick to d ncert fr maths, its enuff provided u try to figure out wat's diff in every ques

And u can do phy frm pradeep / ncert depending on hw fast and properly do u grasp d concepts....

For ne prb, hit back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
