Guys, I shud not criticise my coaching on a public portal like this but I am enforced to do this becoz of its management. I am enrolled in Brilliant Tutorials, Delhi. I joined dere 2-yr classrum course. Dere course specifications were that they will first teach CBSE level and then upgrade it to IIT level each of these 2 years. I chose this programme becoz I got feedback from people that students who study only IIT don't do well in schul. And I didnot want that. OK its fine till here. They started teaching us CBSE in our first yr and whenver we requested them to just increase the level a bit, they refused to do so saying that we will do it afterwards. Now from June-07 to April-08 they could manage to finish only CBSE NOT IIT. SO my first yr was wasted. Then we had reshuffling etc... Now we had to IIT of both XI and XII in one yr only. So they started teaching us XII IIT first . One of my teachers taught us Optics for 2 months which had eaten up most of our time(although he taught very well but 2 MONTHS????? ). Now from Oct onwards we had to do the whole syllabus of XI. SO they started keeping very frequent whole day classes. As A result the chapters were taught quickly dere but we dint get time to self study and practice questions. Now also some topics r left in phy and chem of XI. So I will be studying some topics of IIT level first time in 2 yrs where all other are doing revision. I will not get time for revision. I am very worried as time left is very less. I hav pre-boards from 7-18Jan. SO during these days also I will not be able to study that left XI IIT. What do I do? I am very depressed and worried. I am getting a feeling that I will not be able to make it to IIT this year.

well, it is not your fault. You should never rely on any coaching institute completely. You should have studied side by side. In fact, it is possible to crack JEE with self study. Well, there still are 100 days left, so make full use of them. You should be thorough with the theory, so all you have to do is practise problems. Your NCERT, ie, CBSE board preparation for Chemistry will be enough to get you 35-40/162 in JEE chemistry, so if you practise from some good book for like 2 weeks, you will be able to get the extra 30-40 marks and clear chemistry. Physics and maths - you will be able to make it if you have good concepts, and I assume you have so, coz your coaching sirs must have done something atleast, so just solve those problems, and then switch over to HC Verma, or DC Pandey... Don't waste too much time trying to solve one problem. In case you are stuck up, look at the solution, and assimilate it, as there is less time.
For maths, follow whatever book you are using... or if you don't have one, procure ML Khanna, as there are solutions to all the problems there. If you already have a book, well and good. So no use worrying...
There is hell a lot of time left... Study hard, and you'll be sleeping in the IIT hostel beds 5 months from today :)

Will nip in at times to solve problems :)

As for those topics -
Rotational is the toughest - requires 2 weeks of hard core practise... so do this first. waves - 2 days max... do HC Verma or any good book SHM - couple it with Rotational... and finish them in 3 weeks Thermodynamics - do only KTG, Cp, Cv, and all the different types of processes, and graph questions... ignore heat transfer equilibrium - do it for 2 weeks... from p bahadur (though I don t have this book) remember, just get the concepts right... you will be able to finish these fast as you must be well versed with your boards na... the syllabus is almost the same

Ohno !!!!!!! Really sorry at that condition of yours and I don't need rate from a person who is dat desperate for help Even I am getting frustrated with your institute now.I feel like dragging them to the court for their mis-planing which can cost one student his entire future Anyways what am telling you is what I would have done if I would have been in your place: 1)You know that you still have got to do the following topic a)Rotational -Do it first. Then Revise Rotational and thus whole of Mechanics in some 10 days (for Only Rotational) + 7 days (for Tot Mechanics) So total 15-17 days. b)SHM -Pretty easy as after mechanics it can be done very easily should be completed in 2-3 days. c)Thermodynamics: Just remember what are the cases for all types of Rxn: like Isobaric,Isochoric,IsoThermal,Adiabatic. WD = ? Q = ? H = ? Then must know degree of freedom. Now for chemistry. a)Chemical Equilbrium & Thermodynamics: Study it from RC Mukherjee. RC Mukherjee will I think make you cover it all in 2days. Bcoz it has got short explained and very well solved eg. there are about 40-50 examples from each topic. Plz Do physics from only one book as no other option: 1)Arihant Objective ( DC Pandey ) And some personal Views: Dude, JEE does not require studying for 2 months, Yaar You have done CBSE too.As far as i know one of my Cousins who is in Delhi now gave JEE-06. I just asked him to give it a try.And trust me dude he did very well.he got a Rank of 3914.Well i ma not sure of da last digit but sure of the first three 391*. I think you can get into JEE still now.But if you study frm more books which are good then you can get a good rank. And dude cheer up...... Forget the past and Work in the Present. Aim:Get into IIT. Hope it helps you get you rank in JEE. Cheers !!!!!!!! @@@ !!!!!!!!

This is th problem with BT, FIITJEE and Narayana. They have started selling CBSE but they do not have systems to teach them along with IITJEE. They take too much time in teaching. As a result, either IITJEE does not happen or CBSE gets left behind. If all happen then no time is left for self study. Find out a place which has a system worked out to synchronize and teach both. Do not buy programs that take too much time in teaching. There is no time left for self study. You should not spend more than 300hrs in coaching per year.
