how can u be in dilemma wen u,ve got thru iit. getting into iit is tough but once u get that tag ur life is made. there shud be no confusion. how can u leave the best. make it iit or bits.there is no 2nd option.among these select the one which gives u ur field of interest..

i herd that bits cutoff is coming down, so there is a chance u can get mech in second list.(maybe in pilani but surely in goa)

congrats on iit!!!

if your state rank is ok, you may also get something good in your state nit.. but im wondering how your aieee rank is soo much higher.. i have a friend who got 7000+ rank in iit and 4000 rank in aieee!!

but cheer up yaar im quite sure about bits goa mech..

IT BHU- METAALURGY

IIT ROORKEE- APPLIED GEO PHYSICS ( 5 YEAR MTECH)

NOW WHAT TO DO

hey i dont think it is wise to take ISM (unless u r interested in mining)

and i think bits goa is quite good, since aftre all it has the BITS tag.. its new and will surely be as good as ppilani in few years. even the guys on the site in bits360 say that.. frankly i think you should be happy and take goa since nobody really studies these 4 years properly anyway ;p

but its youre decision.

pliani might not get you much.. atleast its what i feel.. if the cutoffs come really low then you might get something.. otherwise im not sure. the best you can do is wait..

and anyway you will get something in your state NIT.

WHY ISM DHANBAD IS BAD?

IT IS THROUGH IIT, AND IF I GET ISM DHANBAD - MECHANICAL , ITS BAD OR WHAT PLEASE HELP AND I DONT THINK SO THAT BITS GOA IS AS GOOD AS NITS , U CAN NOTCOMPARE WITH IIT YAAR BECAUSE BITS GOA , IS RECENTLY OPENED AND NO BATCHES HAVE BEEN PLACED SO FAR .

SECONDLY , MY SIR SAYS GOVT COLLEGES R BETTER THAN ANY PRIVETE COLLEGE.

SO PLEASE

I M JUST PUTTING MY THOUGHT

dev now even im slightly confused..
i dont agree with your sir about the govt coll and private coll.. but then i feel that bits is better than all nits except maybe trichy, warangal and surathkal.
i know people in pilani and the stuff they say about the place makes you think that even iit (apart from the precious tag you get by being an iitian)is not that much better.

my other friend in nit nagpur(maharashtra, where i am from) tells me about the place and he says that its 4th best as far as nit's are concerned. the college has nothing to boast about,and is nothing compared to bits(says my friend, and i trust him).

frankly i know very little about ISM and ive never heard of much great stuff happening there(i mean placements etc..), but bits(pilani mainly) is almost as good as iit.

and obviously you have not heard of placements from bits goa since i think this is their 3rd or 4th year so no course has finished yet!!

THATS WHY I CAN NOT PREDICT ABOUT BITS GOA , BECAUSE EVERY COLLEGE IS RECOGNIZED BY ITS PLACEMENT , IF NO BATCH HAS BEEN PLACED SO WHAT CAN I DO ? AND ITS NOT NECESSARY THAT BY THE TAG OF BITS , THIS COLLEGE IS GOOD?

AND BY MY OPINION IIT IS FAR BETTER THAN BITS PILANI,

IIT PLACEMENT (HIGHEST) - 12- 18 LACS.........

BITS- 6- 8 LACS

SO THATS WHY I M CONFUSED...........

ITS THE CONFUSION THAT BITS I S GOOD AS IIT........................
