I was thinking about this for the last hour. I evaluated myself and came to the conclusion that I'm not "that" smart. I'm just like any other "Everyday-Joe".

I'm feeling really unmotivated. I started my preps for IIT really late. My life went through a dark chapter when I was in Plus one. Please don't ask me what it is. I don't want to remember. It makes me sad, depressed and even paranoid.

So, how much IQ does a man need to crack JEE ? I know, you'll say, "just work hard". But really. If anyone of you have already cracked IIT, tell me your IQ score. I haven't checked mine and I won't (for now) since if the result is bad, I'll become sad. Tell me.

Note: I know it makes no sense if I don't give you a common standard to compare. But I don't actually know of any "really good" IQ testers. People say "never trust the internet". So, anybody have any suggestion on a good IQ test ?

hmm.... its nothing like IQ ...its all abt knowledge .....with knowledge your horizon of thinking w'll extend.

so keep on working hard and bury your past becoz its gone and don't think abt future js make your present good by working hard....don't think wat is gone n wat u can't do js think wat u can do best.

c i have not cracked iit so i dont know wat is d iq level required
and nor am i interested in knowing it
im just interested in working hard for the last yr i have wid me
if every person thnks abt his or her iq level i thnk iit will b just a dream for every 1
even if u dont want dis advice i wud like to say just study hard
and no 1 can judge ur iq level

u shud know that ur come in dis world only to b a burden

i do know a lot of people whose iq is too low....... but still score gud marks in jee ...............they study for some 6-7 hours - weekdays
11-12 hours - weekend
so it doesn't matter if u hav low iq ..........its all about hardwork

dude iq tests ill send u good ones hehe cos i score high on them along with that nikhil (waterdemon)

but of course IQ only helps u if ur good at something and ur IQ helps u analyse it faster... otherwise hard work is the major factor!

not all high IQ people are in IIT... how many IIT inventions do u see? whereas BITS and DCE NSIT people have so many inventions!
IQ is an asset , but where u end up mostly is based on ur hardwork n toil .

first of all bro plz don't feel depressed.everybody has to face many problems in life.the best thing to do is to tackle them.i would suggest you to atleast give a try.even if you don't succeed this time,the next time you'll give the paper i.e. next year atleast you'll have the clue what's in store for you.

talking about the required iq level to clear IIT,one must make his concepts crystal clear.you still have some time to complete 50% of the syllabus.plz don't drop and waste one precious year of your life.

there are many other options like AIEEE,BITSAT or you can even try to give NDA exam and live a proud life of an army officer.with all the facilities available in army services,i suggest that everybody should give NDA exam.

honestly, if, instead of that one hour of self-evaluation, had u revised sum topic, it wud hav been better. Time is too short now to heal wounds. At the end, ur mindset should be - this is a sum, and i HAVE to solve it. Nothing else matters.
Btw, my iq is around 144. Bt then, shakira's iq is 140. And i dont consider her much smart. So i guess im not that smart either. Bt who cares??

Lol dude IQ test points vary from test to test... the only ones you can actually count upon are the MENSA tests.
OR the one's u can take at a psychoanalyst.

Thank you all friends, for your replies. I was so kind of you to spare some time here from your busy schedule. And hey, do you really think I can put up a good fight ? I mean, some ppl learn 6-10 hours right from plus one (which I'm sad about. life was cruel).

I cried a lot in Plus one and now I'm finding myself crying a lot more since I wasted a lot of time and didn't prepare. I'm working hard right now. I'm working literally 24X7. Thanks for the motivation my friends.

And why does it take 6-10 hours for 2 years for some ppl to prepare for IIT ? And why does some of them still find it difficult to clear it ? Does this mean its practically impossible for me or anyone like me to clear JEE ?

And, gaurav, please do send me some good IQ tests. I don't mind putting in half an hour for that. I waste a lot of time otherways. Anyway, thanks again fellas.

listen dude, it depends person to person. Some people need to study 12 hrs a day, and some need only 4 hrs. Rate of studies differ, but the integral wrt time is the same. Dont try to increase ur rate, try to increase ur integral. At the end of the day, u should feel happy with the amount of studies u have done throughout the day.

arre what the crap.Firstly, iq is not a measure of ur intelligence in the true sense. Put on discovery or animal planet or something, there is a program dunno wats its called they showd an african hunter use a really amazing trap to capture animals.I am 100% sure he didnt know maths and all that to crack the iq test. Tell me is he dumb?????

No ,my friend he is not. Also as spidey mentions most ppl in iit dont have high iqs (110 on an average:poll) tho i dont agree with his view that iitians cant contribute. Dude tell me Btech degree milne par kaun research mein jaayega yaar??

So my suggestion is just study hard, most of the ppl on this site are like u(incl me) but we dont sit thinking abt it and waste our time, adios mate.

And how many IQs out of these do your average IQ tests check?Just 1(i.e. Logical Mathematical)

And do you know that among the most successful people i.e World Leaders ,Spiritual Leaders, Managers,CEOs etc. have highest of which IQ??NOT Logical-Mathematical , but Interpersonal Intelligence.

If you want more food for thought , try to read about the "MENSA" paradox.There are plenty of people in MENSA(A high IQ society) , who are garbage cleaners , low wage workers etc.
