is this estimation correct

None

my state rank is 419 and i am from MP .

i guess, at least 100 people with state rank <419 will go to the IITs,bits etc.

so my state rank becomes 319 .

so,this improves my prospects of getting a NIT .

plzzz. tell me now, whether or not my calculation is correct

Yes it is like that............

In west bengal your rank would have been minimized by 300+ as more students go to better institutes like IIT/Jadavpur/BESU shibpur/BITS/ISI...............

Definitely more than 100 before u are to leave........

u can think like this but every year the same happens so closing opening ranks in the aieee website of last year will give u the best clue still u wud possibly get a nit but branch may be probs

if your state rank is under 500 or so, u have a good chance of getting a good nit and a good course

hey hemant ,u said every year it is the same .......

but i dont think so .

this year's JEE was much easier than 2006 and so more people have cracked it from MP this year than last year .

i mean ,last yr approx. 250 ppl from MP went to IITs but this year ,the number has gone up to 300+ !!!

No u will not be able to get into MANIT,Bhopal becoz many of the iitians will left it because of there branch choices and this year in MP many of students who had cleared JEE doesn't got a decent rank in EEE i am also a good exampel 4 the same i got in 4 thousand in JEE genral and SR 972 MP

boss " at least" 100 from MP will go to IIT who have done good in AIEEE too

Seats have increased in IITs thts true And Its also true that there are more than 350 slections in IIT this year frm MP so wid 419 u'll get a seat in NIT for Sure But Branch may be a prob.

There are only 330 Seats in All NITs (including MANIT) From MP According to the 2006 counselling brochure.

Yes I think u'll get ur branch but may be there might be a prob.

is that number more than or equal to 2007 ??

I dont kno the exact number but ppl say that there is a 100% increase this year thats double the number !

man you are right atleast 275 people with a state rank better than you are going in iit
even me although i have gove got a sr of 21
