Number of seats in IITs

None

I have heard that the number of seats in IITs have gone up. where can i get the seat capacity for the branches.

What was the rtotal # of Seats last yr ? Was it 5444 or was it close to 5000 ?
I want to get a hyang of the increment in # of seats this yr.
Pls reply someone.....its urgent.

The total number of seats this year has increased marginally to just over 5500, but there is no change in IIT B, IIT D, and IIT K
