hey man

i'm from AP.

i went for manipal counselling...but by the time i went there , the streams that i wanted were full , so i just waitlisted for those courses and came back.

so today i told this to a friend of mine and he said that it was a good decision , for a degree from a college like sreenidhi or vasavi can also rival that of a manipal btech degree.

at the end of the day , your marks matter - he told me.but the only difference is that if you join a less reputed college you will have to work harder to get to the same placements as a candidate with lesser marks in a higher ranked institute.

eg: maybe a guy with 75 per cent in manipal and 85 percent in sreenidhi get pretty much the same placements.

exclude the iits from this , for you get a good job pretty much handed to you once you graduate...

that's what he told me today afternoon. tonight i see your question.

think about it...i am.

YES,ITS CERTAINLY GOOD JOINING THERE....WHAT YOU ARE FORGETTING IS THE VALUE ADDED SERVICES YOU WILL GET THERE....AND BY THE WAY...IF YOU ARE SO GOOD....YOU CAN GET A FREESHIP OVER THERE.....SO BETTER STOP COMPARING SREENIDHI WITH MANIPAL....AND WHO TOLD YA THAT YOU WILL GET SELECTED IN SREENIDHI FOR AN AVG. RANK LIKE 10K...

ONE MORE THING....this year MANIPAL counselling was really shocking....and even in waitlist also only top 6000 applications were updated...so it shows that slowly but surely student quality in manipal is improving....the only place where i feel it was inferior to colleges like bits and thapar.....secondly dont forget its a self running university...no industry...no govt. backs it...so when you talk of its high fees...think b4 you speak....

Manipal is a decent college which has good recruiters coming to it if you want to prove yourself. Besides, it has some foreign links, maybe not with the best universities though and it definitely figures within the Top 40-50 engg colleges of India.

Go to Manipal if you are not getting things like LNMIIT, JIIT, Thapar, anything in PEC etc...

yeah manipal MIT is a good option.....heard tht the counsellin this year was really shockin as bayernrocks told......in first 1000 ranks this yr 350 people took admission compared to 50 last yr......on an avg the have 1200 open seats....(not considerin the ICAS programme)......which were filled up till the rank of around 4500.....while 6000 were called for the counsellin...and also i dont think there willl b second counsellin....this yr...so Manipal is improvin its standrads..

No dude, I am talking of all those colleges which are either better or have more potential in the near future. Manipal is a decent college, I 100% agree and on campus placements are very good compared to most colleges. These are the real pros for Manipal besides a few others.

i dont know how u got the idea tht the environment there is everythin but studying............and the only thing is fees....well for a private coll to run.....i think the fee is reasonable..and also they provide u with a laptop....and they have AC classrooms....tht all costs a little.....i feel the fee is reasonable and is worth it....

that is not JIIT, that is JIET and that is crap. CSE at JIIT filled up around 13k in first counseling and there is no secound counseling for CS, IT or ECE.
