hi frnds
i wanted to share my experiences which i experienced these entrance examinations..
When my tenth got over i myself had no idea abt iit, entrances etc...
So on seeeing some of my frnds join some coaching institute so i too joined it........but without any interest and zeal to join iit etc etc..
so i did not study with whole heart these 2 yrs and now i am facing the consequences that my iit and my aieee has gone bad....
I have lost hopes on BITSAT and i am very sure i am not gonna make it...
I took the topic of drop in front of my parents but they r very against it.....they say that u join any champulal college of engineering but do well for MBA...but dont u think frnds that it will be too late.....
PLS tell me how to convince my parents of a drop ......i am feeling very depressed and u all r my last hopes..pls advice me...i am ready to work hard another yr....
pls pls pls pls....i will definetly rate every reply!!!

hey when is ur bitsat?
if u hav a time of one to two weeks sketch up a plan on each chapter in this time and finish either
1 arihant bitsat 2008
2 mtg bitsat explorer
even if cross the cut off join bits and study one more year to get a gud eng branch
dont vory. u pooja n i r in same boat . i was also very depressed but that doesnt help. i took one week break n now i m fine. my marks in iit n aieee r exactly same 2 urs. i d one cousin who got sm 40000 in eee .she took admn with EC smwere in dehradun vidout donation n she not at all dissappointed. i sugest u decide ur priority n just believe '' there more 2 life than this''. well best of luck 4 ur bitsat
hey,buddy................. :)
i think u should join any college.........iam also dropping an yr 4 IITJEE09............but our situation is different..........u said that ur parents are totally against ur decision to drop............while mine r supportive....................in ur case there is a possibility that u wl hv 2 face the noncooperative behaviour of ur parents...........which will have a negetive effect on ur studies..............this is one point.........another one is a question.............which u hv 2 ask urslf.........can u handle th pressure, are u able to do it........................
now to me th 2nd one is important............becoz its u whose gonna fight th battle...........if ur inner self says that, yes i can do it.............then buddy..............go 4 it.............dont worry about ur parent............they only want ur happiness.............just stick 2 ur decision...............
all the best :)
hey my life is in tatters as well. so u arent alone after all!!!
im xpecting 135 in iit and 140 in aieee i got 88% in my boards which totally sux .
my belief is that life always offers a second chance to every1 . so if u and i and so many other ppl like 'us' work fr BITS there is a chance.
cheers!!!
I would suggest you to drop ONLY is you are confident you can make it.
The main drawbacks of drop are :
1. If you do not put in QUALITY and SATISFACTORY work from day 1 , tension will prevent you from studying harder.
2. Your classmates have already gone one year ahead of you. It creates pressure.
3. "Will I qualify this time?" shatters your confidence.
So , you should drop only if you think you can bear all this. See , your parents are against it now , but if you drop then definitely they will encourage you to work harder.
See , there is nothing like time to prepare etc. Quality of study is the factor that will get you in. This is because no question is ever repeated in IIT.
So if you are repeatiing follow the steps :
1. Concentrate on quality work. Solve 30 - 40 problems with full understanding (If it takes the whole of your time)
2. Do not take any tension. Assume that you are not appearing for any exam. You are interested in the topic and you want to study it. (It may fail initially , but works marvellously). You don't know the future , only way you can make it better is by working in the present. (i.e. study harder)
3. Try opening out every single thought with your parents.
IN case your parents still say a no to drop , get in some engineering college and prepare for IIT. Remeber , quality of studies is more important than quantity. There are people who have just studied for 4 - 5 hours for a year and yet succeeded in IIT.
Your parents know you better and probably their decison might be correct. Try to open out with them.
Wishing you success,
Sidd.
