Regarding Study techniques
None

Hi

I didn't qualify for IIT. Got a 7500 State rank @ AIEEE. Got 300 @ BITS but not 80 % @ boards.

While analysing my failure it came to light that my concepts were clear , but still I fail miserably. Here is a list :

1. I mostly solve subjective problems ( 9 : 1 :: Sub : Obj)

2. I don't solve too many problems , but each problem I solve conceptually , clearly identifying the concepts & misconcepts.

3. I stress too much on concepts.

4. I write all my exams with confidence. But , I can crack problems @ home but not in the exams. Or , more specifically I don't get marks @ exams.

Now , I am deciding of taking a drop and preparing again for all the exams (IIT - JEE , AIEEE , MHT - CET)

So , please tell me what to improve.

Thank-You

Siddharth

You are not getting 80% in board exams.So it is impossible for you to get into BITS.You should take drop if and only if you are determined to do it.If you have strong desire to get into IIT or any other premier institute,then you must go for it,study well,develop skills(as you have told that you have clear concepts)and you will be studying at IIT next year.Otherwise you should try for some local engineering colleges.
GOOD LUCK.

Rate if you feel it is useful.

I don't think that what you are saying is not your short comings. I feel that the reason of your failure might be different. Please reanalyse it. These things are required to make a solid base for JEE. I would suggest you to take drop and keep working on these lines only. Just increase the ration of objetive problems and start taking regular tests on your own.
