I have been wanting to ask these questions since long: 1. While begining to study a chapter i begin with full vigour but while reaching the end of the chapter i lose interest and by the time i reach numericals i am fully exhausted and then i am unable to solve them and i lose out in Numericals. 2. When studying for a long time when i start feeling tired my heart says that i should continue studying as i have to get a seat in a good college but my mind wants a brk. and in this way i drift off to some other activity and my mind wanders away frm studies. 3. Why do seniors n teachers recommend HCV to students even today when the pattern is obj and HCV has subjective. HCV also has some xtra portion which is not reqd for IIT....still why is it recommended?? 4. RC mukherjee has very less theory in beginning ..but still why is it recommended almost above every book. Some may feel disturbed by my last two questions..if so pls forgive me.... Sorry for so many questions but i had very less nickels... Rates for every reply guaranteed.

Let me give u answers according to the sequence of the questions u asked.....
1.The first problem occurs bcoz due to lack of breaks.Have a break after half an hour for 5 minutes. Not less and not more.In this 5 minutes go out and breath the fresh air for 2 minutes or so and think that all u'r restlessness is going away with each breath. After that u sit down and ponder upon the things you wnt to do in the next half hour.....Do this and u will get used to the system....
2.Here the point lies that u should have a time table where u get sufficient rest as well.Do not overstrain....Have a topic which u want to complete it within a day and try hard to complete it....Once again,do it for a week and it will bcome u'r habit.
3.I strongly beleive that HCV is still gud.As the pattern has changed but still HCV offers very challenging problems through which it will develope u'r confidence in JEE.
4.I am not so sure abt R.C.Mukerjee as I used R.D.Sharma...
BEST OF LUCK FOR U"R IITJEE.....AND STAY RELAXED...

R C is good book for beginners as far as physical chem is concerned
HCV has nice problems and it helps to build concepts.....(i find mechanics and heat part nice but not EM)
regarding u not able to concentrate take a break of 10 mins every 1 hr... also give some time for doing activity which u like ....such as listening to music... in such a way ur mind will not wander and it will be relaxed..
hope it is useful!!!!! cheers

Hey i think i can answer all your doubts 1.The approach u use is wrong (acc to me) Arey yaar when u hav done 1 topic then only complete the ques of it.Agar koi bhi poore chapter ki theory ek saath padhega to interest to loose hona hi hai there is no doubt in it. So wat u need to do is start a chapter take the first topic & cob\ver ques related to it,then read second topic & cover ques to it & so on.. If u r taking any tuitions then they will help u in it 2.yaar aisa nahin hai ki the students who gives sittings of 12-14 hours only clears JEE U shud give breaks to your mind, then it will not wander but BEWARE never use TV for it with many1 it occurs that they go for a break for 10 mins & it converts into 1 hour with out our knowing.
3. Although the paper is objective but still JEE ques u need strong concepts only formula application is not enuf for it HCV has very gud ques which improve your cincepts & help u in applying then betterly 4.same as 3 coz RC Mukerjee also hav class ques whihc r very gud for building concepts
I hav well replied your queries If anything else u want to know just nudge me bye

my reply's would be 1. of course take a break , or a bath while bathing think about iit and competition before you,by the time you get outof the bathroom you will be filled with fresh energy. 2.i again recommend the above .also try meditation ,it can help u tackle such situations. if u are damn exhausted go to sleep u can make up for it at night. i.e spend you inactive time by sleeping .u can extend ur studies to that much hours at night. 3.hcv is a excellant book which cement ur concept especially for beginners ,coz it helps them frm transiting from mugging up studies to conceptualised studies. 4. rc hearing for the first time.i use o.p.tandon & t.m.h.chemistry
