.....atleast it does give me the creeps. I just dunno how to learn organic chemistry. I mean I dont know if my approach is wrong or what. Everytime I try to learn org chem, I end being frustrated and I dont continue after that. I know that to succeed in JEE, you have to be more than good in organic chem. Even I want to learn org chem well but like I said I just dont know how to approach it well. So can someone please tell me how to approach it. Like what things should I understand well and what needs to memorized well and stuff like that. I have already passed my 12th boards, so I dont have much time left to study organic chem. I dont have much problems with Physical and Inorganic part but it is just the organic part that bothers me. Someone plz help me! Rates assured!

Understanding mechanism is the key to modern organic chemistry although there are hundreds or thousands of reactions, these reactions occur via only a few fundamental mechanistic path ways. It is the recognition of the mechanistic similarities between different reactions that allow organic chemistry to be readily understood. Understanding mechanism will help make sense of thousand of facts that comprise organic chemistry.

But even if I complete Pradeep and I am not able to complete other organic books, would it be enough to do the sums in JEE?

For big but impressive compilation of mechanisms, I recommend MTG's "Reaction Mechanisms in Organic Chemistry". Decent price tag.
But its not listed in their website, so online buying is not possible ( as far as I know). Just give them a call for the details and send a DD or something. Its a good book. Believe me.
