the usual confusion ... what to chose ??
None
hello everyone ...
i am really stuck on the following optons available for me a the time being and though i am most likely only considering the top two options but rest are pretty luring as well
1 . IIT - Roorkee .... biotech 4 yr
2. bits - pilani .... mechanical ( hopefully will be upgraded to EEE)
3. NSIT ............. electronics and communication
4. NIT .. got aieee rank 3252 ( AIR ) form delhi state so not sure what i will get ...
considering that i am interested in research based career ... but am not too much interested or aware about the biotech aspect ... i need expert guidence ... agreed it is an iit .. but is IIT Roorkee good enuff for biotech ?
and if we are suggesting the options 2 onwards ... can nene ... especially from bits tell me what are thye prospects howsoever dim that i will be able to prepare for next yr JEE ? coz i have heard that in bits the studies are very tuff ... as in they take a lot of time .. a lot of hard work already goes in .. so i am not sure will i be able to make it ?
and then again .. if i chose bits or NSIT .. will it be a wrinmg decision to leave IIT ??
all the experts and friends please help me ..

Hey Hi
I have done a bit of research on this.
As the same dilema is going on with me.
I have talked to many seniors in BITS
They have said its possible to study in BITS but the environment, frens etc make it a bit tough.
I would advice you to join IIT and study there and have a branch change coz the IIT tag does matters but yes just dont go for this Branch change.
Considering Biotech i had talked to professors there and they say it has got more application of chemistry and less from Bio side.
So it is a safe branch to go with.
But if you dont want it the best option would be BITS EEE but do not compromise IIT for BITS mech.

Hi,
See Biotech is research based and futuristic, it's going to be the next BIG THING tomorrow, but the thing is your interest. To check your interest go to the IIT roorkee website and find about the course. You can also mail one of the proffesors (and they reply very quickly) asking them about the course. After this If you don't think you can do Biotech for the rest of your life then again
if you want to give another attempt or not choose the best option from BITS and NSIT because if you are dedicated enough then nothing can distract you. Since you are from Delhi, I think NSIT would be a good option , you can enjoy the benefits of nearby home and also of the coaching institutes in Delhi

the thing is that i alreasdy had coaching for two years .. so i m going to prepare on my own ... and moreover i am really keen on mechanical as a branch ... and loads of ppl say that bits is much better than nsit even though nsit is a good college ... so think i have decided that i will go for bits and if need be prepare again ...
thanx all for the suggestion ..
waise regardig the benefits of staying in delhi .. let me be frank i hve no inclination of stayng ni delhi ..unless it was iit d ofcorse and with bits p as another option .
