Nothing is ever sufficient. In a job market, a person with a higher qualification will be preferred. If you have an M.Tech, you will have an advantage over B.Tech holders and Ph.D holders will have an advantage over you. Unless you are financially constrained, it is better to upgrade your qualification as high as possible. If you can, do your M.Tech as well. It will help you in rough weather.

In the Market ( i.e. when u apply for jobs ) M.Tech will be preferred !! ............. In the campus placements M.Tech should also be preferred but dunno why packages are too low for M.Tech even in the IIT's as compared to the B.Tech .

Just doing M.Tech is not sufficient,The important thing is that from which institute are u doing ur M.Tech......But for campus placement B.Tech is better than M.Tech(I think so)

Package depends on the person. Only a mere degree doesn't guarantee a fat salary. The person must have a good personality in addition to a good career record. B Tech is sufficient. B Tech + MBA has a much higher salary than B Tech + M Tech.
