Be ready for the Happy Happy shocks of second allotment on 7th July .
Engineering Entrance , JEE Main , JEE Advanced

I think the cutoffs of 1st round as we saw yesterday shall fall by 8000 - 12000 ranks (atleast ) or even more for the average branches at average institutes . The reason behind this assumption is that atleast 8000 students ( may be much more ) under 20 k in AIEEE 2009 will leave out for institutes like IIT , BITS , VIT , MANIPAL , DAIICT , UICT , THAPAR , IP,DCE , HBTI , State Colleges ,PEC etc. etc. etc ( you may complete this list ) and also since there has been a vast increase in the no. of seats this year , so definitely the pressure of reserved category on the open category will get reduced and the cutoffs will fall.

You have a point there but we cant be sure by the rate this fall is going to take place.Lets hope for the best.

I have got LNM-IIT (comm. & Comp. Engg.) at AIR 12974. Can I expect lower branches like Production, Meta., Chemical in NITs like Allahabad, Warangle, Trichy ?

i have got state rank of 517 TN belong to general category.....air is 26348....do i have a chance in nit trichy??

The reply has not been made under any ill will against any body.

But here i wanna ask one question that if people will leave top NIT's for institutes like VIT,Manipal,DAIICT,UICT,HBTI,State colleges and many more to complete the list then why r u so concerned to take admissions into such institutes dude xplain.............................( It's only a comment and can be taken as a joke too). plzz dude correct ur statement.

And ya i think one can leave NIT Durgapur Chem. for HBTI's C.S

counselling tym is critical....my state cllg opens at 10K inspite of d fact dat u have damn gud chances at national cllgs at d same tym.....n many take a drop as well(to mentiion)......ppl do leave even d best cllgs(esply grls) for several reasons.....(i hav done so)....in fact intelligent counselling is something which is hardly seen....dats why............

20.5 k ( AIR ) and 2.6 k (HS ) . I am an average guy this year but not next year ! I am going for a drop .Got in EML this year . What about u ?

I have completed my second year frm NIT Allahabad, Mechanical.............if u r going for a drop i would wish u best of luck for dat and would also say u to structure your whole 1 year plan in your mind, dat way u will always remain focussed and will definitely be able to make it to IITs/NITs/BITS. Moreover u can also see to seek admission to College of Technology Pantnagar and at that rank u might fetch elctrical engineering der.............u can visit d site at gbpuat-tech.ac.in, its d best institute in India for Agriultural Enginnering but its mechanical branch is very renowned.

Pls help me, i did not fill my choices in aieee preference wise , I just selected the institutes where i wanted a seat.I have got Jaipur national uni, If i dont want to take admission there, do i just have to wait for 2nd round may be NIT are next in my list coz i have alphabetically as they present on the website..
