Engg. Design. - Please help me with My course allocation.......

None

I got JEE AIR 2138 and I got allocated a seat in Engg Design/automotive engg. at IIT Madras.

I have heard that the department of Engg. Des. is not very good at IIT Madras.

I can also get IIIT Hyderabad cse.

Which should I prefer?

Or should I take a drop?

dude join iit madras. work hard and get your branch changed. u wil not lose on the iit tag too.

who will go for iiit when u have iit???.......at this rank u can get better courses in any of the seven old iit's.........still madras is very gud......go 4 it........

Branch change is not allowed from this course,its written in the brochure.

What should I do?

Although the course sounds excellent,its kind of linked to robotics,which I'm interested in,But I'm still in two minds about this......

Thats quite a blind reply you see.......I've already compromised going to IIT Bombay for the sake of getting a good branch (I'm from bombay)

I don't know whether IIIT Hyderabad (Listed as 7th best engg college for cse) is good enough to compromise IIT for.

Also,can someone provide info on engg. design/automotive engg?

Go for Engg. Design in IIT - M , it is quite a good branch and frankly, brancgh is not that important if you are from IIT, it's all about the way of thinking they teach you there.....Rate if useful

WHat are the other options available to u now?Also think carefully before taking this branch coz no transfers allowed from this.If this is wat u wanna do for life or u planning 2 do mba after this then okay.otherwise reevaluate your options.

I Didnt give BITS,My options are either IIT Madras or CSE at any AIEEE college........

If you are serious about coding ,programming or u have a passion for cse..then go to iiit...or else..iitm..
