hai there,i asked the same doubt to onhe of the faculty at the NOTTINGHAM UNIVERSITY.HE SAID first do mechanical engineering and then specialize in aerospace.

Mechanical engg provides you with a base for moving ahead with aerospace engg but mechanical is a very diverse stream and aerospace is just a part of it.There are also certain schools for aerospace in india like the one in IIT Bombay. You can make a choice between the two.
