well i thought so and reffered a guide mbd.  in there also they had given just what i thought..

pls confirm it or correct me if wrong...

sample paper 3

Q 14.  air  cored solenoid connected to dc battery series bulb

if switch closed what happens???

i feel it glows brightly no change even if iron brought inside core as anyway no resistance offered to dc current...

Q 8.  input A MUST b 0..

for none of them A needs to b 0 rite when B is 0 if A is 1 also nand gate output is 1 rite???

18) D ( distance frm screen ) omitted but thats okey...

well actually the bulb starts glowing slowly only...as current does not reach the maximum value inst..during that proces when u intro. a rod, self  infduced emf will increase and the bulb will appear still dimmer..but when steady state is reached,it doesnt matter whther the rod is in r not as the flux remains a constant

BUT Isn't that only for ac??????

dc it is 0 resistance!!!!!!!  self inductance doesn't affect DC.

resistance is 0 if u consider it as RESISTANCE in ohms...
an inductor is kinda resistance too...it has a back emf due to changing magnetic flux.....due to this current increases slowly....

if we insert a rod inside solenoid...flux changes at faster rate...so bulb should glow faster than before....
(or the flux may increase at a slower rate...i don't really know...then it would be opposite)

but still final current will be same in both cases because in steady state , u can say that resistance offered due to inductor vanishes.....because flux becomes constant...
