difrentiating the given equation than...WRT x
32x + 18y.(dy/dx)=0..
the pts at which ordinate decrease at the same rate at which the absicssa increase ,
dy/dx = -1
we have taken negative bcoz it is deacreasing,negative signifies decrease...
16 x = 9 y..(1)

solve two equation for the value of x,y

does the ordinate decrease at the same rate at which the abscissa increase?

dy/dx = -1
now differentiating the ellipse equation
32x + 18y.(dy/dx)=0
put dy/dx=-1 to get those pts.
so , we get 18y=32x
9y=16x
put this in the ellipse equation ,
we get the pt (3,16/3) and (-3 , -16/3)
hope u gt it ...........
