define the function in intervals (0,infinity) =x and(-infinity,0)=-x so respective derivatives would be 1 and -1....REMEMBER to solve by breaking in intervals....

if x>0 then answer is -1 and if x<0 then answer is 1

it is 1 for all positive x and it is -1 for all negative x.

sorry incomplete answer deu to server problems...cannot differentiate |x| at x=0 rest u go!!!
