i think only one condition is there

2 - |x| / 4 <=1 and 2- |x| / 4 >=-1

for  2 - |x| < 4

|x| > -2

hence x belongs to R

and

2 - |x| >= -4

|x| <= 6

hence x belongs to  [-6,6]..

let y= f1(x) + f2 (x) +f3(x)

f1(x) is defined...

-1<= {(2-|x|)/4}<=1

0<=|x|<+6

or Domain of f1 is [-6,6]

similarly domain of f2 is also [-6,6]

and domain of f3(x)=R

hence .D1 intersection  D2 intersection D3   gives us...

D=[-6,6]

in all the three addends, only one condition is applicable.
