we need to know how to solve D.E. because sometimes in science we come across certain equations which involve derivative of a unknown function.Thus to find this unknown function we need to solve D.E.for eg. in Simple harmonic motiona=-w^2*xa is double derivative of 'x' wrt 't'we solve it for x and get x=Asin(wt+delta)
