A block of mass m containing a positive charge q is placed on a smooth horizontal table which terminates in a vertical wall.The distance betwewen the wall and block is d.A horizontal electric field E towards right is switched on.Assuming elastic collisions (if any) find the time period of the oscillatory motion.Is it a simple harmonic motion?

we have been given,
u=0 , s = d and acceleration of the block will be
a = qE/m
so applying, 2nd equation of motion, time taken to reach the wall will be
t = sqrroot(2md/qE)
and assuming tht the collision is elastic, time period will be twicw of this time.
T = 2{sqrroot(2md/qE)}

let me know whether the answer is correct or not. if correct plz.. vote

see s=ut+1/2at^2
now u=0
sp s=d=1/2(a)t^2
ma=qE
=>a=qE/m
thus d=1/2(qE/m)t^2
=>t=root 2(dm/qE)
thus total time T=2t
thus T=2(root2dm/qE)=root (8dm/qE)
please rate i am sure tht i am correct
