=0[1-r2/a2]  ,for r<=a
and rho=0 for r>a

a:radius for the sphere
Find the electric field at a distance 'r' from the center,when

a) r>a
b)r<a
c)Find the value of r for which the intensity of electric field is maximum inside the sphere.

my answers(don't know if my answers are correct or incorrect)
a) 0
b) E=r(a2-r2)epsilon(not)/3a2
c) r=a/ 3

Oops... sorry. I did take a spherical gaussian surface. I made a typing mistake there. Rest is fine.

jasbir, I have considered a sphere that encloses the required volume. Choosing the gaussian surface is upto us.
