well ur question seems a bit confusing...

by 'two objects charged similarly' u mean the method of charging or the type of charge on the objects???

if u mean the method of charging the objects... by induction it possible that the charges have opposite nature and attract each other.

if u mean the type of charge then 2 bodies charged with the same type of charge do not attract each other.

yup they can
if chrg on 1 is much gr8 than tht of other...and if they r sufficiently close...the larger chrg  induces in the other body the chrg of opp sign to come closer...
if the size of body is decently large then the force of attraction between the bigger chrg and the opp chrg (induced) exceeds the force of repulsion...
but this is not possible for small(point chrgs) as size is negligible and so force of rep>force of att

yes i just forgot to consider that case.
computer001 is correct.

yeah..
quite right.....
opposite charges can be induced this way....
biology students will know about this as seen in nerve impulse propogation

size doesnt matter, brains do...

Yes it is possible.

In molecular, chemical bonds, this is only wat is observed.

The bond length is the distance at which the system has minimu energy and the two atoms of similar charges attract each other if their separation increases the bond length and repel if brought closer further than bond length, as shown below

Yes dear computer, I fully agree with you as induced charge can not alter the overall charge but only its distribution over the body and thus making attraction possible

It may also be possible for massive objects. the gravitation attraction may be stronger than the charge repulsion.(I know this is ALMOST impossible)

I think in nuclaear forces too the like charges likw proton proton attract each other under the influence of nuclear force (but not coulombic force)

gajju, thats because of the Mesons in the nucleus.

EVERY ONE IS FORGETTING ABOUT GRAVITATIONAL FORCE. HOWEVER IT IS LESS THAN ELECTROSTATIC FORCE. NET FORCE OF TWO SIMILAR SMALL CHARGES CAN NEVER BE ATTRACTIVE.

ALSO IF CHARGES ARE SMALL AND LARGE DISTANCE APART, THEN GRAVITATIONAL FORCE WIIL BECOME DOMINANT. BECAUSE, IT IS A LONG RANGE FORCE.

I LIKE HARRY POTTER BOOKS, GAMES, MOVIES, THEMES, WALLPAPERS, ANIMATIONS ETC. I HAVE COMPLETED READING ALL POTTER BOOKS, GAMES AND SEEN ALL THE MOVIES AND I OWN THE SAME.

I AM A BIG FAN IF J.K.ROWLING AND WARNER BROTHERS.

we should consider gravitational force, if distance is very large compared to magnitude of charges then gravitational force becomes dominant. so they can attract.
