how it is different from d case when d plates carrying d opposite charge r connected

apply charge on  a plate = - charge of the other plate  connected to the first plate

and conservation of charge

if same charged plated r connected then there would be a re-distribution of charge among the plates.
initial-----capacitor1 charge =c1*v1
capacitor2 charge=c2*v2
total charge of the system=c1*v1 + c2*v2...............(1)
when similarly charged plates r connected then the potentila difference between capacitors wold be same(=V)
so..........capacitor1 charge=c1*V
capacitor2 charge=c2*V
total charge of system=(c1+c2)V..........(2)
so (1)===(2)
so V= ((c1v1) + (c2v2))/(c1+c2)
now using this value of V u can get the new charge on capacitors(c1V,c2V)
but when opp charged plates r connected then nothing paculiar happen.becaz there is no difference between the potential on the individual charges.
