why cant v use a capacitor in place of a battery, since both r charge storage devices and can be used in electrical circuits???????????

Capacitors can be used as a battery. Once they are charged, they can act as battery is an RC circuit. However the efffect will not last longer as it discharges pretty quickly, but for that short span of time, it acts as a battery. We can increase its working time by increasing its time constant(RC).

Capacitor can be used as a battery but the flow of the charges will be for a short period of time till it get neutralized due to which it will result into transient current (i.e. current for very smalll period of time) which is of no use.hence it can be used as a battery but there is no practical use of it.Yaa it is used in photoflashes and other devices but not as a battery.

u r right.....................a very gud question.
but it has some problems.....
1.......the discharge done by a capacitor is very quick.
2........to chaqrge the capacitor we need a battery.then y to use a capacitor?
3........and of course we r using it for things like.....flashes in a camera were quick discharge is needed.......
4.......moreover economically its not easy to produce a capacitor tht can store high amount of current.hope u know the dimensions of the capacitor tht can store 1C charge.so i think its not possiable to use it as a battery..................
if useful give me the rates.................................

and let me tell u .........i used to show magic to 4th standard students using a capacitor...........
first i will charge the capacitor using a battery ,behind the stage.then i used to bring an LED and connect it to the capacitor.all the students were astonished to see the LED glowing witout a battery.(they dont know abt capacitors...........hahhaahaha).
but after glowing the LED came the real trouble.............since its not possiable to make it glow too long(charge stored is very less),the bulb start to unglow slowly.................. but i managed to end the show before it get OFF.........
