Carnival-KCET-Jan09-9973 Physics - Is this solution correct?
None

Q. 53 A cell is connected between the points A and C of a circular conductor PQRS of centre O with angle POR = 60o. If B1 and B2 are the magnitudes of the magnetic fields at O due to the current in PQR and PSR respectively, then the ratio of will be

  0.5

Correct Answer: 1
Solution:
(1)
Acute angle POR = 60o is given
According to the Biosawast law, the magnetic field at centre O is directly proportional to the current carrying
segment. Hence

hey.. i guess answer is wrong... it must be -1 ...i.e both are in opposite directions.. according to biot savart law, magnetic feild also depends on the current in the current carrying segment

the ans shud be 1 bcoz dey r asking magnitude of B n not vectorB. hence 1  is correct

rate if useful....

i think the direction of current thru PSR is incorrect, it should be in the -> PSR direction and not in RSP direction.

and then what vignesh said would be true, and answer  is ok (= option 1)
