Current Electricity problem.
None

Hello Everybody ,

I just read in a book that IF THE SAME METALLIC WIRE (Continous unbroken wire) connects the two ends of the resistor then the current thrugh the resistor is zero.

Is this correct. Please furnish a nice explanation.

My view - point : Since all the points on a metallic wire are at the same electric potential , the two terminals of the resistor are eqi-potential.
BUT WE HAVE DISCUSSED THAT CURRENT EVEN FLOWS WHEN THE TWO POINTS ARE QUI-POTENTIAL.

Please explain

This is a simple case of short circuiting. The wire simply short circuits the resistance as the wire has almost zero resistance, hence all the current flows through that wire.
