electric field will accelerate a charged particle in its direction while a magnetic field wiil exert a force on it which is perpendicular to itself and the velocity of the particle

this is resolved in 2 cases [E= ELECTRIC FIELD , B= MAGNETIC FIELD] 1. +ve charge
effect of E will accelerate the charge in same direction.... effect of B will a force on the charge in direction according to perpendicular to both the movin chg n mag.field..........
THIS CASE IS IMPORTANT 2. -ve charge
eff of E WILL DECELERATE THE CHARGE effect of B EXERT A FORCE IN DIRECTION PERPENDICULAR TO THE VEL N FIELD BUT OPP. TO THE DIRCTION OF THE +VE CHARGE
