figur e shows a long massless nonconducting rod of length l and  pivoted at the center ,       balanced with a block of weight w ,  at a distance of x from its left end .at the left end and right end of the rod are attached small charged spheres with positive charges q and 2q resp..
   a distance h beneath the each sphere there is a fixead sphere with charge +Q
 
 
 
 find the dist x when the rod is horizontal and balanced
what value of h?so that the rod exerts no  vertical  force on the  bearing when the rod is  horizontal and balanced?

THIS IS A SIMPLE QUESTION
U HAVE TO INTRODUE THE CONCEPT OF TORQE
THE RATATING EFFCET DUE TO ONE CHARGE SHOULD BE NULLIFED BY THE ROTATING EFFECT OF THE OTHER

FORCE OF (LEFT Q ON LEFT q)=F
FORCE OF (RIGHT Q ON RIGHT 2q)=2F

FORCE OF (LEFT Q ON RIGHT 2q)=2f
FORCE OF (RIGHT Q ON LEFT q) =f
FIND THE RESULTANT
COS(THETA)= L / ( H^2 + L^2)^(1/2)

SO THE RESULTANT BE - R BOTH INCLINED EQUALLY FROM THE ROD.

NOW CALCULATE THE TORQUE USINS THE DISTANCE X
(TORQUE DUE TO q)=(TORQUE DUE TO W)+(TORQUE DUE TO 2q)

THUS U GET AN EXP IN X
FIND THE X REQUIEREED.

THIS IS JUST A LENGTHY PROBLEM.
