A solid conducting sphere having a charge Q is surrounded by an uncharged concentric conducting hollow spherical shell.Let the potential diff. between the surface of solid sphere and that of outer sphere of hollow shell be V.If the shell is now given charge at -3Q, then what is the new potential diff. between same 2 surface?

yeah, it doesn't depend on the charge given to the outer shell
Initial potential diff = k ( Q/a - Q/b)
New pot diff = k [ (Q/a - 3Q/b) - (Q/b - 3Q/b)] = V
