A certain charge Q is divided into 2 parts q and(Q-q). how should the charges Q & q be related,so that when q & (Q-q) placed at a certain distance apart experience max electrostatic repulsion?

Two identical charged spheres are suspended by strings of equal lengths make an angle of 30 degrees with each other.when suspended in a liquid of density 0.8g/cc ,the angle remains same.what is the dielectric constant of the liquid?(density of the material of the sphere is 1.6g/cc)

A conductor A has a cavity in which another conductor having chrge q is put keeping it away from the walls of A.what will be the charge on the surface of A?

could anyone tell me where these q's are from?

the answer for first is Q/2
firstly write an  general expression of their force and differentiate it and put it equal to zero.

ans of Q1
for max electric force df/dq = 0
where f = q(Q-q) = qQ - q^2
df/dq = Q - 2q=0
= q = Q/2

dielectric const is given by
k = p/p-q
where p is the density of the material ans q is density of liquid

What i wud lyk to be is unique....Govind

Ans1> F is directly proportional to (q1q2)
          Therefore for max repulsive force
           q1  = q2 = Q/2

Ans3> -q at the inner surface  & +q at the outer surface of other cavity.
