You charge a parallel-plate capacitor, remove it from the battery, and prevent the wires connected
to the plates from touching each other. When you pull the plates apart, do the following
quantities increase, decrease, or stay the same? (a) C; (b) Q ; (c) E between the
plates; (d) V ; (e) energy stored in the capacitor.

also answer the questions for the situation in which the battery remains connected to the capacitor while you pull the plates apart.

plz give reason too!!!

Remember Cedric. Remember, if the time should come when you have to make a choice between what is right and what is easy, remember what happened to a boy who was good, and kind, and brave, because he strayed across the path of Lord Voldemort. Remember Cedric Diggory.

C decreases coz it depends on the dimensions of the capacitor = Ae/d
Q remains same
E=(sigma)e remains same
V increases coz V=-Ed (d increases). also by q=CV (C decreases so V increases)

2) C decreases (same)
V remains same coz its maintained by the battery.
Q=CV, therefore it decreases
E decreases coz d increases (E=-V/d)

But still I am one.

But still I can do something;
And because I cannot do everything
I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.
