Since it is an infinite resistance series. Take the equvalent resistance to be X .
since it is an infinite series (parallel combo) take the repeating part as X. ie, u'll get it as X in parallel with 1 ohm. this combination in series with two 1 ohm resistors.
ie,
X /(X+1) + 1+1 = X
X + 2(X+1) = X(X+1)
=> X2 - 2X - 2 = 0
=> X = 2.732 or -0.732
ignore -ve value
so the ans will be 2.732 ohm
