A long, hollow conducting sphere is kept coaxially inside another long, hollow conducting sphere of larger radius. Both the conductors are initially neutral.
a) What happens when a charge density is given to the inner cylinder?
b) What happens when a charge density is given to the outer cylinder?

Pls. give detailed explanations!!!

a) there will be electric field b/w & outside the small& long & long sphere respectively....

b)there will be electric field only outside the long sphere ..E = 0 b/w larger & smaller sphere(while in (a) part E not equal to 0)

According to me (as i hav studied up till now),

a) here since charge is given to the inner sphere a feild is developed b/w the inner and outer and so even charge is developed on the outer sphere and so feild is developed outside the sphere.

b)here since charge is given to the outer sphere obviously the feild is developed outside the sphere but there is no developement of charge within the sphere and hence there is no feild in it.

Nothing is IMPOSSIBLE coz IMPOSSIBLE itself is I M POSSIBLE....... !!!!!!!!
And one thing u need to clear IIT is POSITIVE ATTITUDE towards any damn thing..... !!!!!!!!
