What is current......? if ur ans is current is the flow of electrons then this question is for u........ a wire carrying current is hanging. I would the put a bucket under it and then with the help of scissors i would cut the wire then will the electrons fall into the bucket....??? if no..why? if u take a pipe through which water is flowing and u cut it then the water will fall ....then why doesn't electrons fall???????????

hieee.....
well a very different kind of a question....!!!!
when u hav cut d wire , the electrons wud no longer b in flow.... moreover the wire itself wud fall into the bucket when u cut it... so the electons havn't vanished....they r still in the wire.... when the wire itself has fallen , then the entire collection of atoms which do hav electrons hav fallen.....but there's no current since the electrons r randomly oriented.in the wire
n wen u cut a pipe water falls .....which is just due to gravity....!!
cheers!!!!!!!!!!

see .when we switch on the light the bulb glows suddenly.........so the velocity of current is so high...........as it is with high velocity it cannot stop immedietly.
