A shell(made of some alloys) of mass 100g is fired horizontally with velocity v  from a box of mass 1 kg which can roll on ground having coeff. of friction=0.1 and connected to rigid wall through ideal spring of k=100 N/m.The shell passes through plates of capacitor which contain uniform electric field.Calculate angle of deflection of shell when it emerges out of plates due to effect of electric field????

[assume perfect horizontal motion between plates of capacitor.Ignore fringing effect between plates.Assume capacitor of finite length so that shell gets enough time to interact with electric field]

well do box has anything to do here..
mass will experience the force only when it will have any charge..
so i thing angle is 0

@reddevil
hey dont u think u must have given charge on the shell because u have asked the deflection only due to effect of electric field. there will be deflection ofcourse but only due to gravity. Since mass of the box is given the effect of gravity cant be ignored and the deflection will be only due to tht and in tht case it will be a question of projectile motion unless the shell have some charge if we are can neglect the induction!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nevertheless plz.. let me know if the question goes same like this and u want to ask the same!!!!

dont u think shell surface will get induced....................In the question no charge is given.................But assume plates to be long..........i hope u understand now.....
