IN PARALLEL PLATE CAPACITORS CAN A SYSTEM OF TWO PARALLEL PLATES OF EQUAL AREA , SAME CHARGE DENSITIES HAVE CAPACITANCE ??

    |+             +|                     E inside = 0

    |+             +|                     dv/dr =  0

    |+             +|                    v= constant

    |+             +|                    hence potential is nonzero

    |+             +|                   so c =q/v which is a finite value ????

    |+             +|

    |+             +|

ya its not a capacitor..thr shud be negative charge at da other end

If you have a kind word to say, say it now
If you have something too give, give it now
If you can make someone glad or another less sad,
Do it now... Do it now.... Do it now...

If you have trust to bestow, show it now
If you have friendship to give, give it now
If there's pain you can ease or someone you can please,
Do it now... Do it now... Do it now...

yep its not a capacitor at all ...capacitance can exist if same charge density is there for  opp charged particles

u can hav capcitance for a isolated conductor considering the other object(plate) to b at infinity.....

a capacitor is one with opp cahrged plates only!!! even when u construct a capacitor

assume u have a  positively charged plate first then an insulated one this plate induces a negative charge on teh insulated one...so positve charges got to the opp side of the insulated plate then they r earthed!

so u hav got opp cahrged plaates which form the capacitor....and u cannot hav two lik charged plates!

 rate if this is not bad....:)

what i read in many books is that opposite and equal charges are taken to decrease the field thats all a single conductor has capacitance . now the book doesnt mention if like charged cap. can have capacitance

@x4
SEE, THIS SYSTEM COULD NOT BE CALLED A CAPACITOR. BECAUSE FIRST OF ALL THE CHARGE IS ONLY GIVEN TO ONE PLATE AND AT THE SECOND PLATE THE CHARGE IS INDUCED WHICH CAN NEVER BE LIKE CHARGE. NOW IF U WANT A SYSTM LIKE THIS U HAVE TO CHARGE BOTH THE PLATES SIMULTANEOUSLY THEREFORE THIS IS LIKE CHARGING TWO DIFFERENT CONDDUCTORS SIMULTANEOUSLY.
NOW AS FAR AS UR DERIVATION GOES ON, U MUST FIRST OF ALL KEEP IN CONSIDERATION THE FACT OF USING THE FORMULA
C = Q/V
IN THIS V IS NOT THE POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE BUT THE ABSOLUTE POTENTIAL OF THE CONDUCTOR. NOW KEEPING THIS FACT IN MIND U CAN SEE THT DUE TO THE PRESENCE OF OTHER SIMILARLY CHARGED PLATE THE POTENTIAL AT FIRST PLATE IS ACTUALLY INCREASED SINCE POTENTIAL IS A SCALER QUANTITY AND THEREFORE ALGEBRAIC SUM WILL BE DONE. THEREFORE DUE TO INCREASE IN POTENTIAL THE ACTUAL CAPCITY IS DECREASED NOT INCREASED.

I THINK THIS GOES RIGHT.

PLZ... RATE IF SATISFIED................

look its not necessary that the charges on the opposite plate is by the process of induction u can allways have a system like this what u say is right , that u have to charge both plates , given this system can it have a finite value of capacitance ???

u say it wud decrease , agreed , but does it have capacitance ???????

sure. this systeem has a finite capacitance but its capacitance is less than tht of a single plate.
