see sum no 15
let the battery supply a charge Q1+Q2
Q1=4(v-vc)
Q2=8(vc)
Q2-=3(v-vd)
q1=6vd

4v-4vc=8vc
v=3vc
3v-3vd=6vd
v=3vd v=50 vc=vd=50/3
therefore the potentiol difference at points c and d are same so if a capacitor is connected no charge will flow through it
eq.

sum no 47
q1=120
q2=72
q1=q2=48
in stable state the v across the capacitors is the same
q1/5=q2/6
q121.8,26.2

pg 164 sum no 4
since the v across the last capacitor at both the points is the same no charge will flow through it.it can be excluded from calculations
the other 2 capacitors r in parallel therefore the eq. capacitance=2c

pg 165 sum no 4
draw a gaussion surface between the plates of the capacitor
since the lenth lies in the conductor the electric flux and the electric field is 0 since no electric field can exist in a conductor
therfore the facing surfaces of the capacitor will have the same charge the outer surfaces will also have the same charge acoording to gauss law.
and the battery will always supply th same charge to both the plates . so the answers are a,c,d

sum no 39 let the capaciance be c and v
cv^2=4
when the capacitors r joined in series the eq. capacitance becomes c/2
the potentiol difference across the ccapcitors will remain the same
cv^2=4
thereforec/2v^2=4*0.5=2
