Two equal negative charges are fixed at thr points (0,a) and(0,-a) on the y-axis. A positive charge Q is released from rest at the ponts (2a,0) on the x-axis .
Explain the motion of charge Q.

first it will acelerate to the left
and once it reaches the origin all the potential energy gets converted to kinetic energy
and then it moves in the -x direction and stops momentarily at (-2a,0)
then again it will accelerate towards the origin
this motion is repeated again and again

the motion is periodic but not simple harmonic
because the force is not proportional to distance from mean position
