what is the potential of the inner sphere?

DOUBT: DOES the charge induced due to the inner plate on the "inner surface" of the outer plate become significant?Doesnt it move into the earth leaving the outer plate uncharged??? If so then why do we consider the potential due to the outer plate when calculating the potential on the inner plate?????

its not so dat the outer shell becomes uncharged when earthed. rather it will get charged (frm earth) so as to make the potential of outer shell zero. so u have to find the charge induced on the outer plate.

Remember this: when a shell is earthed, its potential becomes zero, not its charge.
