 hello dear

The metallic body of electric appliances is connected to the earth by means of earth wire so that any leakage of electric current is transferred to the ground. This prevents any electric shock to the user. That is why earthing of the electrical appliances is necessary.

THE EWRTH WIRE IS A ELECTRIC APPLIANCE WHICH IS CONNECTED WITH PLUG AND TRANSFER THE CURRENT TO THE EARTH ONLY FOR THOSE APPLIANCE WHICH IS MADE UP OF METAL

for positive metallic appliances it is used to with draw the electron from the earth and in case of negative metallic appliances it is used to transfer  the electron to the earth for balance the appliances

first of all...........there is a myth in everyone's mind that earthing makes current in the circuit zero.........it never makes the current zero but it makes the potential difference equal to zero by making net field outside the body equal to zero............the electric field of any conductor spreads upto infinity...........earthing reduces the electric field upto a certain limit.........which makes the potential difference zero...........and obstructs the flow of current through the metal body...........hence it is strictly recommended to earth metallic bodies...........
